Our Team

Our financial advisers are long term members of a professional advice association and adhere to a Code of Conduct that binds them to act with professionalism and integrity and always in client’s best interest.

Both Michael and Joe have made significant contributions to the financial advice profession in their roles as Past National Presidents of the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA).

Michael Nowak

Director / Principle Financial Advisor

Michael is the owner, Managing Director and Principal Adviser at Nowak Financial Services. He commenced advising in 2005 and made a successful transition into the Principal Adviser role in succeeding his father, Joe. Michael and Joe are proud to celebrate 50 years of Nowak Financial Services in 2020.

Michael derives most satisfaction from the engagement with clients and being able to work with them to develop creative solutions that will provide both financial peace of mind and well being. He specialises in personal and family life insurance advice, working with business owners for their insurance and retirement strategies, superannuation accumulation and retirement planning. His ideal client is one who genuinely cares about their financial well-being and value having a long term plan to meet their financial goals.

Michael is a member of the AFA and holds the following qualifications – the AFA’s FChFP designation, a Bachelor of Business from QUT and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning.

He is married to Amy (a Roma girl) and now has two young children, Olivia and Lachlan, and lives in the local area of Auchenflower. He enjoys the odd weekend trip the beach with the family for a surf, watching a bit of rugby and listening to music. Personally, Michael believes in his own advice and has a comprehensive life insurance portfolio that will protect him and his family, he has a strategy to pay off his mortgage by the time his eldest daughter Olivia starts high school, and he has a plan to meet his retirement goals by age 60.

Michael is a major contributor to the financial adviser community, and currently is the AFA National President, entering his ninth year on the AFA Board. Previously he has held the Vice President role for four years and he is one of only a few, two term AFA Presidents.
